Company: IntelliFlux Controls
Role: UX Engineer (UX & Product Management)
For all projects of IntelliFlux Controls, I wore multiple hats — as Product Manager for the outsourced development team and as the Lead UX Designer and Researcher shaping the product vision. As Product Manager, I defined the roadmap, translated engineering requirements into actionable user stories, facilitated sprint planning, and ensured alignment between business objectives, client needs, and technical feasibility. At the same time, I conducted user research with process engineers, built wireframes and prototypes, and led design reviews to validate usability. Since the Decision Tree was originally hosted on an external web application, I also coordinated its migration into APRICOT’s core software ecosystem, ensuring compatibility with SCADA and process control environments. Technical skills frequently applied included HTML/CSS for interface prototyping, JavaScript for interaction logic, SQL knowledge for data handling discussions, API integration planning, and version control systems (Git) for collaborating with developers. Additionally, I worked closely with the engineering team on scalability planning, node-based UI structures, and workflow optimization, balancing the depth of technical conversations with the clarity needed for user experience improvements.
Decision Tree
The Decision Tree tool is a decision-making system within APRICOT that allows internal teams and process engineers to set up and manage automated jobs for plant operations. It enables users to configure alarm notifications, reporting flows, and other process-related tasks through a visual, node-based interface. By connecting different decision points and conditions, the tool helps engineers model operational logic, define workflows, and automate responses to events across water and chemical engineering systems. Its key functions include job setup, rule-based decision logic, flow visualization, edit history tracking, and scalable node/property management, making it a versatile tool for improving operational efficiency and reducing human error.
DUO Flows
As part of my role at IntelliFlux Controls, I led the design and product management of APRICOT’s Decision Tree tool, a critical feature used by process engineers and data scientists to build and manage digital unit operation flows. This project aimed to transform an internal prototype into a market-ready solution that could support real-world applications such as pipeline analysis, leak detection, and automated client reporting. Through iterative research, prototyping, and collaboration with the software team, I redesigned the tool to deliver a scalable, intuitive, and client-friendly interface that improved usability, streamlined workflows, and enhanced adoption across various end users.
Pipeline Validation
At IntelliFlux Controls, I designed the Pipeline Validation and Leak Detection tool, a GIS-integrated application for utilities to validate hydraulic models, detect leaks, and monitor water distribution networks. The tool merges real-world geospatial maps with hydraulic simulation data, enabling both control-room engineers and field operators to pinpoint anomalies and ensure system efficiency.
Plant Health & Management Report
The Plant Health & Production Report Tool by APRICOT is an AI-powered digital operator interface that gives water and chemical plants real-time visibility into production, costs, and equipment health. By unifying live performance data with predictive maintenance insights, it helps operators cut downtime, lower expenses, and extend asset life. From alarms to financial impact, everything is translated into clear, actionable reports—empowering Fortune 500 companies to run smarter, safer, and more cost-efficient plants.
